Editor-in-chief of the RT channel and Rossiya Segodnya media group, Margarita Simonyan, spoke about her struggle with cancer, which she learned about after an appointment with a neurologist. According to her, the cancer stage is not the most severe.

Simonyan wrote on his Telegram channel: “I didn't know anything about my diagnosis in July, but I found out on September 1, when I went to get checked for intercostal neuralgia (as I thought). <...> I don't have a third stage, but a first or second stage, thank God. There is no point in guessing what will happen next.”
“I have a terrible, serious illness”: What diagnosis could Margarita Simonyan have?
The head of RT had previously announced the start of a course of chemotherapy. However, she refused to predict when she would return to work and broadcasting. Simonyan explained that she did not write a will because she believed that her heirs (children) “will work things out somehow.”
