CAS rejected Israel's call to participate in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
The International Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has rejected Israel's appeal to participate in the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. In the CAS statement, it stated that the Israeli Gymnastics Federation opposes the decision of host Indonesia not to issue visas to Israeli athletes who will participate in the championship on October 19-25. In the statement, it was stated that there was a request to take the necessary measures for Israeli athletes Artem Dolgophyat, Eyal Indig, Ron Payatov, Lihie Raz, Yali Shoshani and Roni Shamay to participate in the organization, the hosting will be given to another country or the championship will be canceled. It is reported that the application for emergency interim measures was assessed and rejected by the Deputy Head of the CAS Claims Arbitration Department. Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, in a post on the US-based social media platform's Instagram account, stated that “diplomatic relations will not be established with Israel until Palestine is liberated” and announced that visas will not be issued to Israeli athletes.
