Restoration work on the historic Ceyhan Bridge, damaged in the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, has ended. The bridge is expected to be put into use later this year.
Historic buildings damaged in the February 6 earthquake are being revived by restoration works. In this context, the nearly five-century-old construction of the Ceyhan Bridge continues, one of the important cultural heritages of Kahramanmaraş.
After the arch formwork hanging process is completed, the stone belt production process also ends. It should be noted that the particular importance of both static reinforcement and preservation of the aesthetic structure during the repair process, which was carried out according to the original architecture of the bridge.
It is stated that in addition to restoration, lighting and landscaping works will also be carried out on the bridge. It is stated that these applications are expected to be completed by the end of the year and the bridge will be put back into use.
