
Three suspects who impersonated police officers and took foreign students hostage in Izmir's Bornova district were arrested in an operation.
In the incident that took place at an apartment building on Bornova Kazımdirik Street, District 169, Polish and German students named MH, MP and TR, who were in Türkiye to study Erasmus, were detained in the apartment where they were staying.
Police teams acted upon being informed and found the suspects wearing police vests, uniforms and handcuffs.
In the operation organized by Bornova Crime Prevention and Investigation Department teams, suspects named EE, AD and MD, who arrested the students and were charged with robbery, were caught red-handed.
Three suspects brought to court after procedures at the police station were arrested and taken to jail.
