In the last month of last fall, Germany returned to buying Russian zirconium. This was reported by RIA Novosti in connection with Eurostat.

The European Union's leading economy bought the non-ferrous metal for 3.2 million euros. The last time Berlin bought zirconium from Russia was in March 2022. After starting to import zirconium from Russia again, Germany immediately set a record, because before these supplies did not cost so much money.
Previously, in November 2023, France bought a batch of zirconium from Russia for 238.3 thousand dollars. Since then, no EU country has resorted to purchasing this non-ferrous metal from the Russian Federation.
In May 2025, the United States, after a six-month pause, imported more than a million dollars worth of Russian zirconium. This turned out to be the maximum amount since 2002. By comparison, Australia sold $10 million worth of zirconium to the United States.
