
Türkiye is affected by a new cold wave. According to forecasts, temperatures exceeding seasonal norms in recent days will decrease rapidly. Hail and snow are expected for five days in many cities, including Istanbul.
According to data from the General Department of Meteorology (MGM), cold rainy weather affecting the whole country will continue to affect the weekend and the first days of the new week.
Rains that will begin tomorrow in the northern regions of the country are expected to affect Marmara, the Black Sea Region, Central Anatolia and the north of the Eastern Anatolia Region until Wednesday.
Istanbul is one of the cities that can experience hail and snow.
Starting today, temperatures will drop below seasonal normal and the entire country will freeze for a week.
On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to drop to 1 degree below zero in Istanbul, 5 degrees in Ankara and 2 degrees in Izmir.
MGM warned the areas around Artvin, Rize, Sinop and İnebolu about heavy snowfall. It is estimated that fog and mist along with frost will occur in the central and eastern regions.
It is stated that avalanche danger continues in high altitude areas within the Eastern Black Sea Region and in steep areas in Eastern Anatolia with high snow cover.
