
As part of the investigation in which journalists Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Veyis Ateş and Taner Çağlı were arrested, 15 out of 20 people whose blood and hair samples were taken tested positive for drugs.
Drug investigations against famous names carried out by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office continue.
The drug test results of 25 people arrested in the second phase of the investigation in which Mehmet Akif Ersoy, former editor-in-chief of Habertürk television station, was arrested have been announced.
The test results of 15 people, including internet celebrity Buse İskenderoğlu, who were detained during operations carried out in the last days of 2025, all came back positive. The report prepared by the Institute of Forensic Medicine was sent to the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office.
Former editor-in-chief of Habertürk Veyis Ateş and social media celebrities Taner Çağlı and Mustafa Karataş were also detained as part of the investigation. Allegations of drug use or facilitating drug use were made against names including businessman Baran Süzer, Miss Türkiye 2016 winner Buse İskenderoğlu and social media celebrity Şebnem İnan. 17 suspects were arrested.
