
The meteorological agency has issued a yellow code warning of storms and floods nationwide except for 13 provinces. Snowfall, which will be replaced by heavy showers in the evening as temperatures drop 6-7 degrees, will affect most of the country from Monday. During the new week, there was snow in Thrace, Çanakkale, the central and eastern regions, as well as Istanbul.
According to predictions of the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM), a new cold spell from the Balkans will affect the country, where storms and heavy rain often occur, starting in the evening.
The storm, which blew off roofs and knocked down trees and power poles, will continue today.
AIR TEMPERATURE WILL DECREASE 7 DEGREES
In the evening, the air temperature will decrease by 5 to 7 degrees, especially in the Western provinces. In the new week, snow will fall in most regions of the country.
SNOW IS COMING BACK TO ISTANBUL
In Istanbul, which is affected by strong storms and heavy rain, snow is expected to start falling as it cools in the evening. It is estimated that snowfall will be in force in the city on Monday and Tuesday.
ICE AND LEAVES DANGER
Ice and frost are expected in the Central and Eastern regions in the morning. Avalanche risk continues in high altitudes within the Eastern Black Sea Region and in steep areas in Eastern Anatolia with high snow cover.
HEAVY RAIN WARNING FOR 68 DAYS
MGM issued a yellow code and warned all cities except Çorum, Amasya, Tokat, Hatay, Kilis, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Malatya and Elazığ against the risk of heavy rain, storms and avalanches.
According to MGM's forecast, strong stormy winds are expected at speeds of up to 50-80 km/h in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, south and east of Central Anatolia, areas inside the Central and Eastern Black Sea, as well as north and west of Eastern Anatolia. Residents are warned to be cautious about the risk of falling trees and columns, flying roofs and exhaust poisoning caused by stoves and natural gas.
