
43 of the 77 suspects arrested in operations carried out in 34 provinces over the past two weeks against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) have been detained.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya shared details of operations carried out by the gendarmerie against FETO over the past two weeks.
Making a statement on her social media account, Minister Yerlikaya announced that 77 suspects were detained in operations in 34 provinces.
Yerlikaya stated that 43 of these suspects were arrested and one was released under judicial control. Proceedings against other suspects continue.
Minister Yerlikaya made the following statements in her article:
“It was established that they were operating within the existing structure of the terrorist organization, communicating with responsible persons in the organization via public telephones, providing financing to so-called aid organizations linked to the terrorist organization, and propagandizing the terrorist organization through their social media accounts. Our prosecutor's office launched an investigation against them.”
The provinces where the activities are held are as follows:
“Afyonkarahisar, Aksaray, Ankara, Antalya, Burdur, Bursa, Çankırı, Çorum, Diyarbakır, Düzce, Edirne, Elazığ, Eskişehir, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kırıkkale, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Ordu, Osmaniye, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon, Van, Yozgat and Zonguldak.”
